Amman Now -The CEO of Jordan Phosphate Mines Company, Eng. Abdulwahab Al-Rawad, confirmed that the company recorded a record performance in 2025, achieving qualitative results in production, sales, and profits. This came during a media interview with CNBC Arabia.

Eng. Al-Rawad stated that phosphate production exceeded 12 million tonnes, the highest in the company’s history, while sales surpassed 11.5 million tonnes, driven by rising global demand for high-quality, low-impurity Jordanian phosphate with competitive specifications in international markets.

He added that production and sales of phosphoric acid exceeded 2.5 million tonnes of solution, while fertilizer production, led by DAP, surpassed one million tonnes from the industrial complex in Aqaba. In addition, more than 300,000 tonnes of specialty fertilizers were produced, most notably MAP, NPK, and MPS, by the Jordanian-Japanese Fertilizer Company.

He explained that these indicators were reflected in the company’s financial performance, as net profit after tax exceeded JOD 600 million, while revenues surpassed JOD 1.4 billion, reinforcing the company’s position as a key pillar of the national economy.

Eng. Al-Rawad emphasized that the company is moving forward within the framework of the Economic Modernization Vision and aims to strengthen Jordan’s position on the global mining map, noting that the Kingdom holds the fifth-largest phosphate reserves in the world, alongside progress in phosphoric acid production according to the highest standards adopted in European markets.

Regarding supply chains, he explained that the company successfully managed regional challenges with high efficiency by building a strategic stockpile of raw materials, such as sulfur and ammonia, ensuring production continuity. Despite delays in some shipments, this coincided with a notable improvement in export movement through the phosphate port in Aqaba.

He revealed a package of major strategic projects under implementation, most notably the establishment of a sulfuric acid production unit with a capacity of 900,000 tonnes annually, and a phosphoric acid unit with a capacity of 300,000 tonnes, within the second Jordanian-Indian company project, in addition to a joint project with the Arab Potash Company to produce purified acid and specialty fertilizers.

He also pointed to a partnership with OQ to establish a phosphoric acid plant in Jordan, and a fertilizer plant in Salalah, Oman, to produce DAP and MAP fertilizers, enhancing industrial integration and opening new markets.

In the logistics sector, he highlighted a strategic project to connect Al-Shidiya mines with Aqaba via a railway line, to transport phosphate and phosphoric acid to Aqaba, while transporting sulfur on the return journey. This will improve supply chain efficiency, reduce operational costs, and significantly enhance logistics performance.

Eng. Al-Rawad concluded by affirming that the company is steadily advancing within the Economic Modernization Vision, with expectations of continued strong performance in 2026, reinforcing its position as a leading global player in the phosphate and downstream industries sector.
