Al-Qaraleh, Iraqi Cultural Attaché Discuss Expanding Educational Cooperation and Increasing Scholarships for Jordanian Students

Amman Now — Chairman of the Parliamentary Education and Higher Education Committee, MP Ibrahim Al-Qaraleh, discussed with the Cultural Attaché at the Iraqi Embassy, Professor Dr. Khair Al-Din Al-Amin, ways to enhance cultural and educational cooperation between Jordan and Iraq, along with mechanisms to develop it in a manner that serves the interests of both countries.

Al-Qaraleh affirmed Jordan’s commitment, under the leadership of King Abdullah II, to expanding cooperation with Iraq across various fields, particularly in education and culture. He stressed the importance of joint coordination to support issues of mutual interest and to strengthen ties between the two peoples.

He called for increasing the number of scholarships allocated to Jordanian students in Iraq, which currently stands at 50 scholarships annually, in order to meet students’ needs and keep pace with the growing demand for study opportunities.

For his part, Al-Amin emphasized the importance of advancing bilateral cooperation, especially in the parliamentary and educational sectors, and working to address the challenges facing Iraqi students in Jordanian universities, in addition to enhancing cultural and academic exchange programs.

He noted that the embassy is moving toward increasing the number of scholarships allocated to Jordanian students beyond current levels, reflecting the strength of relations between the two countries.

Al-Amin also reviewed the key facilities and advantages available to Jordanian students studying in Iraq, within the framework of supporting the educational process and strengthening joint academic cooperation between both sides.
